Further to the penultimate paragraph of our announcement dated 15th June, 2010, it is ANZESC Members’ decision to implement a series of supplemental RR (Rate Restoration) on top of the prevailing market rates as follows:-

From Japan to Australia

• RR of USD.300/TEU and USD.600/FEU, effective 15/Aug/2010
• RR of USD.250/TEU and USD.500/FEU, effective 15/Sept/2010
• RR of USD.250/TEU and USD.500/FEU, effective 15/Oct/2010

From Japan to New Zealand

• RR of USD.250/TEU and USD.500/FEU, effective 15/Aug/2010
• RR of USD.250/TEU and USD.500/FEU, effective 15/Sept/2010

According to the ANZESC statistics, the Jan/May 2010 liftings represented an increase of more than 20% over the corresponding period last year whilst the rate levels generally have been still at the non-compensatory levels.

As such, ANZESC Members would like to seek customers’ understanding that the foregoing RR is essential so as to maintain stable and high quality service to destinations covered by ANZESC.
